Greetings!
on: August 26, 2014, 03:07:19 AM
Hello, everyone. I've been on this forum for a few months, reading and posting, and have finally decided it's time for a proper introduction. I'm American but have lived in Japan for the last 17 years. I guess I'm rather lucky compared to other non-North Americans: Leatherman and Victorinox have a large presence in Japan that is not financially prohibitive. Other brands can be found online as well (e.g. amazon.co.jp) but cost becomes a real consideration. Anyway, I work in academia but love a great DIY moment. I own several multitools and knives (Spyderco has a big presence here as well) and other dorky gadgets that make my life easier and more enjoyable, for what greater joy is there than exercising our uniquely human ability to create and manipulate intricately engineered tools? Okay, don't answer that question. To wrap this up, I look forward to future interaction with everyone on this forum! Thanks!

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Welcome aboard, but watch out for your wallet/PayPal account, there are some very subtle and skilled enablers around here, just waiting for the chance to tell you what to spend your money on  :pok:   ;)
