I really love my new....
on: August 29, 2014, 02:29:37 AM
I had an idea for a thread and wanted to see if it would take off. This is the place to post how happy you are with your new toy, whatever it may be, in actual use. Forget the hype, this thread is for praising your toys that have met or exceeded your expectations and simply ends up being a pleasure to have with you and use.

I love my new SWISSCHAMP!

Been leaving the Rebar in my backpack and carrying the Swisschamp on my hip. I love this thing! The pliers yesterday proved useful for removing staples from a mountain of paperwork for shredding. Couldn't find the staple remover and didn't want to have to track one down. Swisschamp to the rescue and the pliers were perfect.

What new gadget do you have that's exceeded your expectations? :)

My new (to me) Spirit RT.  Why did I let my first Spirit go?   I love it.  It's built like a tank, but beautiful in its craftsmanship.  The black finish is incredible to look at, while unmarked my the times I've used the tool as a hammer.  :ahhh  Since I got it several weeks ago, it's been on my hip more than any of my other tools combined.  It's sitting here right now ready to go to work again tomorrow.  :tu:
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

I recently fell inlove with my Skeletool X, I really dig how easy to carry it and its cool look.

My new AG7 Astronaut pen   I've always carried a bullet pen and this will accompany it in my shirt pocket from now on. I also have an Infinium on the way and an AG7 45th Apollo 11 anniversary edition :D :D

It isn´t here yet  - but some days ago i saw a pic (i think it was here) from a Fenix E05 Stainless, displayed on a mirror, and i believe it was accompanied by a knife or MT.

I liked it´s look that much, i had to order it. And while i was ordering, i decided to get it´s black brother, too. Stealth and shiny, prepared for whatever is needed.
Have fun.

Bye,
Michael

I absolutely am in love with my new Leatherman sideclip that the Captain was kind enough to make me a deal on. It's just the right size for EDC casual. Smooth open, all the tools I need and little I don't. It has been with me since it arrived here from the good captain. I don't know how rare these are but I will NEVER part with this tool. Thanks Captain.

Congrats on the Sideclip. They're quite rare and expensive if you do find them.

Well its not new, and I have worn a couple out, but I love the LM Surge. And the new Style even more. Should take a lot longer to wear it out now with the new replaceable cutters.

The Sideclip is my favourite MT. IMO not tough enough for me at work (so I carry a Rebar) but it's my go-to off work tool.

I really love my new... Mora. They're great!

I have to say my Rogueneer.  Not new to me at this point, but it's my latest SAK at least.  It is all I want/need, all built into one SAK (thanks to GigaHz :salute:).  To say it is my favorite SAK is an understatement, and I've carried it exclusively since I got it (except a couple days when I carried my OHMasterRT).

I feel I should also mention one MT that is new, the Gerber MP400.  I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would, especially that flicky plier action.  It has served me just fine so far, and I've had no issue with any tool on it so far.  Knife is sharp and has worked well on any cutting task.  It looks like a decent sort of utility knife, which works for me on a MT anyway since I normally also have my Rogueneer on me.  The drivers have been fine, and the stubbiness hasn't been an issue, and the bottle opener works very well.  I'm glad my curiosity got the best of me on this one, as I had never considered getting a Gerber MT until recently.  I just assumed they weren't anything special that I would want, but the Great Gerber Awakening of 2014 (as Jersey Devil so aptly put it) converted one more MTO'er ;)

I love the new beanie that arrived today. Unfortunately it is still August, and I'm in the South of Spain.  It's freaking 30 Degrees C.

A black Victorinox with a silver logo was to much to resist.

For the $10 I paid for it, I really like my new Parker Jotter, especially since I ditched the stock ink cartridge in favor of a Fisher refill.  Which I suppose means I have a total of about $15 into it, but still  :tu:

I posted a thread in the EDC carry method forums, but thought I'd post here that after a little over a month of use, I absolutely love my new Tom Bihn backpack. I was skeptical on the size as it seemed small, but I continue to be amazed by just how much of my crap I hold. Even when it looks like it would burst at the seams, it zips up nicely and carries well. I look forward to my next purchase from their company.
