Help Identifying a Wenger
on: August 29, 2014, 07:00:05 AM
I'm having difficulty identifying the lighter color metal Wenger.  The metal doesn't look like stainless it's hard for me to put my finger on it.

I put the stainless Wenger in the picture for comparison.

What do you think?

Its one of the Star Metal series. I have one source that says the handles are stainless steel; another that says they're aluminum. The French catalog in the attached thread uses the word 'chrome', but I don't speak French and can't judge the context.

Try a magnet. Most iron based metals, even most (but not all) stainless steels are magnetic; aluminum is not.
