The other Champ...

This one is new to me, a Wenger Champ. I think it is from the late 80's, but would welcome a correction!

It has eight layers and thirteen blades, not counting the toothpick and tweezers.

Here it is between a Vic Champion Plus and a SwissChamp. Thicknesses are 28mm, 30mm, and 32mm from top to bottom. Weights are 149, 163, and 186g for the Champion Plus, Champ, and SwissChamp respectively.

I have some reservations about Wengers, but this one has very nice proportions.

Hi, LoneWolf! In the Victorinox line the Champion (with its plastic-framed magnifier) was indeed replaced with the Victorinox SwissChamp, using the same plastic-framed magnifier. The knife above is from Victorinox's former rival, Wenger. Wenger called their flagship model at that time the "Champ" and it came with the metal-framed magnifier pictured above. The Wenger Champ was later replaced by the Wenger "Tool Chest", which also had a metal-framed magnifier.

As I remember, the Vic Champion is still in production with updated tools.

Looks about right. I have bought mine in 1988 or 1989 and yours looks the same as mine (well sort of mine is a "bit dirtier")

I've cleaned it like...never
