I rescued a KTM City bike and combined it with stuff I had laying about to make one of those Single-Speed lookalikes that are the latest fad here.I think a few gears and proper brakes are ok for anyone who is not a death defying bicycle courier...Cantilever brake up front, 7 gear hub w. break in the rear, frame mounted lock. Reflectors and bell to be road leagal (you will need battery lights, though) - The perfect Beer fetcher or get me home if I don´t get my Motorcycle back together....It´s too small for me, though. I´ll see if someone in our Scout troop needs a cheap bike. Does this count as Bike porn?
My Salsa in bikepacking mode in the middle of Wales:
JD's bike saga continues! A friend of mine was at a local police auction looking for a bike for her son, and grabbed me an old mountain bike! Tommorow I get it, and my landlord knows bikes, so we'll have it running in a day! Just saved me $200......

Interesting setup. What's in those bags?
I parked it there for the pic but yeah I ride through mud like that and deeper

I would have thought wet mud like that would be too much for even those tires. Those fat bikes are a bit hyped over here although I don´t see any real use. We neither have muddy areas nor sandy beaches anywhere close. And no, no snow to speak of either.BTW: I picked up another fixer upper. Does anybody know anything about teh Sachs 3X7 shifzing gear? It´s a 3 speed hub combined with a 7 gear chainshifter.
Thanks! The Ti bike is taking it's time. Waiting for the factory to finish the detailed drawing.

Looking to spend sub $400. Would the Norco Wolverine fit the bill?
Looks like you are going with 3 bottle cages and a compact frame. Interesting choices. I got excited just looking at the drawing
