Yup, no issue at all, you just toss it to other hand when you need the tool located on the "wrong" side, open it and toss it back to the hand you started from.

Now...after re-reading what I just wrote I really feel like a to$$er  ::)

No.  :twak:
For the off side tools.
To open, push it up with index finger and finish with thumb.
To close, push liner lock with middle finger and push with index finger to detent then finish with thumb.
Nothing to it.

Aye, all can be opened with one hand, no matter if right or left.
Have fun.

I heard they've been running training for contortionists down South Island...you seem to excel in it, keep it up you're doing well.  :pok:

Of course it can be opened with one hand, all four external tools. The question is - does it feel as comfortable? No it doesn't. It can actually be painful depending on grip.

Horses for courses...I prefer the 'tosser' approach...bite me  :D

Indeed i find it quite comfortable - at least at a MT the size of the Beast, where you have "something in your hand" - OHT works also fine that way, not sure about much smaller oh MTs.
Have fun.

I guess I lied when I said this would be the only one hand opening knife I would carry on me.

I got my dyad Jr in my pocket today.

What I can say is that the Surgeon's blades have replaced my large folding knife I normally would carry. It's has been up to ever cutting chore I've used it for.

I just gave the bit holder and extension a test on some rusty Phillips screws. I could only remove 2 out of 3 with the Surge using all my strength the 3rd I broke off.

If the bit driver or extension were going to break under force it would have happened today.

I'm pretty impressed that it didn't break it.  I've broken regular tools doing similar things. The bit holder and extension get a  :tu:

I had a hard time opening the saw today and I had to pry it up with a key.

I'm not sure what was sticking .

I just hope it doesn't become a issue.

Looking at the photo straight above, a saw could benefit from a short spray of a WD40, maybe?

Its just a little sawdust and pocket lint. It could use a good cleaning though by the looks of it.

My brother outright refused to upgrade from ST300 to Surge for that reason.

He does the same kind of work as you do, JA. He couldn't be happier with the ST300. The only upgrade he wants is the bit adapter for 1/4" nuts and a hammer for light tapping.

He says if he use Surge he would spend half of his time cleaning it LOL.

From carrying my wave in my pocket to the surge in a sheath definitely cuts down dust/dirt/lint etc but I also have compressed air at disposal when at work so makes it very quick and easy to keep clean.

Yup, Surge isn't a pocket darling and should be worn in a sheath, pouch or a Skinth of sort. That way it would not only be easier to carry but remain much cleaner overall, IMO.

Cheers.

It is not pocket time that is a problem, it is when it is being use. ST300 enclose itself like the box when used to keep dust/dirt/lint out.

I had to remove the wheels

The metal saw I've been carrying was easy to swap in and worked pretty good.

I used the pliers to bend and break off the other side of the metal strip I cut to remove the wheels axel,

I also opened a new stove and the fridge with the good doctor's plane edge blade removing lots of tape and stickers and unbolting the fudge and stove from there pallet frames with the pliers.

Sorry no pics I was to busy.
