I'll have to check my local Hess station again to see if they have these in stock. They have the regular DoohicKey for $3.00 and they restocked on them, so I think it's a permanent display.

I'll report my findings when I stop by there later in the day.

The pictures don't give me much confidence in the product. I will stick to my Utili-Key :salute:

Kinda cool looking.  I like that they're shaped like keys and will blend in with a keychain.

Nifty.  I'm going to have to pick one if I see the skull kind.

I wish they had a 1/4 bit holder.

Thanks for posting them Kampfer

Chicken/Egg?

Uh...oh...copyright lawsuit anyone?

It would be interesting to know who copied who, though

Both companies use even the same product name  ???

That's what I'm wondering. Curiouser and curiouser...

Someone with the tech knowledge can probably see where it surfaced on the net first.

I have the indegogo version. It is a lot sharper now than when it arrived (but not so sharp as to damage the integrity of my pockets  :P)

The bottle opener is a bit useless - the lower point is too large to fit under the points on a cap properly. The file is also drastically underwhelming.

We are so sorry for the delay, no resellers have received any keys however we did license the Quickey to Niteize who with their expertise in tooling have already produced their own.

Mystery solved!

Well no surprise there. Niteize does that all the time, buy out or more often licenses designs and sells them under their name. They have a big marketing team and lots of distributors and are a blessing for any small maker who wantd to get his stuff out there.Lots of examples of it.

For instance one of our own members, Bob from Pockits had them sell holsters/sheaths for him. All of the sheaths they sell are his.

And the one I regret the most was the eClipse. Those were excellent aftermarket clips. Then the maker and nitrize parted ways and they no longer sold them. They started selling a new version of it this year but as I hear it's much inferior to the original.

That's interesting, that means the 2 versions might be different. I think the scoring point is difficult to get the right mix of sharpness and pocket-friendliness. I thought NI bought from them and just packaged it.
