I love them.  I have a modded Zebra F701 with a fisher refill in it.  I'll never EDC anything but a space pen or a pen with a fisher refill modded in.

I may need to look into get a Fisher pen again; the only legit one I've owned was a bullet I found in Key West, though both my Inka (very nice pen) and my Embassy Pen (which I regifted) both used the inserts.  I go through ink cartridges so frequently, though, I may need to look into one of their lifetime models.

I like them, but I like my fountain pens better. I still might get a bullet.

I prefer Zebra Telescopic. Stronger, fixed pocketclip that won't fall off. And if so desired, can take one of the universal Fisher refills.

They look cool though. 8)

I love my Fisher Space Pen, but I really prefer writing with graphite, i.e. 2 mm lead holders or quality wood pencils.  :pommel:

I have a small collection of space pens and EDC a Parker Jotter with pressurized refill. They write better than any pen I've owned and I collect other brands of pen as well.

I try to carry a Victorinox Manager, in part because of the pen.  But when not carrying a Manager, I carry a Space Pen.  But honestly, they don't write that great.  Too blobby and goopy.  But they are small in the pocket - at least the one I carry - and that trumps everything.

That's SWEET! :tu:

Thanks sawman, so easy to achieve, though. I'm surprised many more peeps haven't gone and done the same.

The key is to use Scotch Brite pad of medium grit (not lower than 400) and definitely not sand paper as the finish won't be uniform. I'm sure there are other ways to achieve this on a lathe or specialized rigs but I don't have any in my garage so do this by hand.

Cheers.

I carry a Fisher bullet to work every day.  It fits nicely in the coin pocket of my jeans.  I also often find myself writing on vertical surfaces and or outside, so I definitely appreciate the facts that it writes at any angle and continues to write when it gets cold.

I am really interested getting one, but I don't use a pen often and most the time people around me need a pen. I got a feeling that it would go AWOL if I EDC an expensive pen.  :bnghd:

I simply don't lend mine out.  I also don't lend any knife, flashlight, or MT that I carry either.  Too many times I have been burned and I'm sick of it.

I've only lost one Fisher bullet in the six or seven years I've been carrying one.  I find the fact that it is a nicer pen (1) makes me more apt to remember to ask for it back, and (2) makes people (the honest ones, anyway) more likely to remember to return it, even without prompting.

Also, I don't know how you choose to define an "expensive" pen, but a you can get a Fisher for under $20.  So, while you don't want to be replacing it every week, it isn't something most would cry too hard about if it eventually walked off.

I still use an original Inka pen with a Fisher universal refill in it (same as the Inka's but cheaper).  Just put a little piece of rubber around the  bottom to keep the writing portion from disappearing.  Had that one happen once already.

I have a an AG7 Original Astronaut Space Pen for home, and I carry a bullet pen on me. My first space pen was an astronaut pen that I found on the ground when I was in high school.

I've got a few, including an orange and red Bali-Yo that takes a special Fisher insert. The only one I use, and carry as a back up pen at work, is a blue chrome Bullet with a blue insert. It's comfortable-ish, but I prefer larger pens. It's really only in my pocket because it's small, which means I'll keep in my pocket for when I need it, i.e. when I leave my desk for something and forget to bring another pen with me.
