Hey guys, I just wanted to ask if anyone has any thoughts, opinions and experiences with this knife because it is on sale here for(I am giving the amounts in US$) roughly $100 at the knife shops and I might be able to pick one up for $55 but it is barely used.

I love the Dragonfly 2. I have only had it in H-1 steel and plain edge though.

It is a smaller knife, but if you are looking for something on the smaller side then it is a excellent choice.

Thanks Cap, unfortunately he only has the serrated one available with the VG-10 steel so I don't really have any choice and it is going to be my first Spyderco if I do choose to buy it. I did research the steel and everyone who has a Spyderco says its great but this particular model seems to have very little info on it or I am not looking in the right places.

I have a plain edged one. It's a small, light duty knife, but due to the choil being as is, you can get a good grip with almost your whole hand. Lockup is solid and opening and closing of it is very smooth. Holds a decent edge too. A decent pocketknife for light to medium tasks.

If you have any specific questions or need pics next to some other tools, just ask. :salute:

People say that Spyder edge is very good, but I've never been a fan of serrated blades so I never tried it myself. Don't know how easy or hard it will be to maintain it and sharpen.

Here are a couple of pictures of it next to similarly sized knives and SAKs you might have (old pics so sorry for the bad quality). From left to right: he Wenger Patriot, Victorinox Cadet and Pioneer, Case Sodbuster Jr., Opinel No.6, SRM 718, RR Doctors knife and the Dragonfly.

Thanks enki_ck. That was extremely helpful especially the pics, appreciate it :tu:

Wish I could have found the H-1 steel PE though.

I'm probably just going to buy it anyway  and I will let you guys know what the results are.

VG-10 is a very good all around steel in my opinion. I would say go for it.

It's a lovely knife but I've personally never been a fan of Spyderco's serrations.  Kershaw and CRKT (Veff) serrations are the best I've tried.

Interesting, browsing the interwebs for feedback, and people swear that Spyderco's serrations are the cats meow.

If you need/want serrations, Spyderco is the standard that has yet to be surpassed. They are a beast on rope, cable, ties, strapping, etc. Not so good for cutting coupons, LOL. The best way to maintain that particular edge is with their own Sharpmaker, naturally. The Delica is oft referened as a "little, big-knife".

I can vouch for the Dragonfly, it's one of my favorite Spydercos and the perfect size for EDC :2tu:

I had a Dragonfly 1 fs and it was a great little knife.  I'm sure the 2 is even better.

Everyone, thank you for all the help so far. Got my new haul in today and got 3 SPYDERCOS instead of just one but with a tiny little con, the Dragonfly in question was a first model generation with AUS-8 steel and no jimping on the blade but still it is an awesome little knife, razor sharp and will be sure to let you guys know how it performs.

Here is the link to the haul:
