Famous members ?
on: September 24, 2014, 10:45:54 AM
I'm not 'starstruck' and rarely impressed by celebrity but I was wondering if we had/have anyone famous on our 'books' ?
I wouldn't want to 'out' any member who wanted to enjoy anonymity on our great forum, personally being 'famous' would be my worst nightmare ! believe it or, I'm fairly shy  ::)

what got me thinking of this subject was a thread I started ~
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,54736.msg953414.html#new
I know Mr Sprave isn't THAT famous, being more of a youtube phenomena, but plenty of people (specially among us 'odd folk') know who he is. I was even a little worried about putting someone else's video on here, because nobody is bigger than :MTO:
then I was wondering (yeah I didn't get much sleep last night   ) who else would 'I' like to be on  :MTO:
is there anyone (preferably our sort of people, not just 'famous people' like film stars or Musicians etc.) that anyone else would think cool to have here ?

question for Modderaters and staff here ~ "could we approach people and ask them to join our humble group ?"

I wouldn't want to have 'large egos' trying take over, as I'm sure nobody would, but wouldn't it be cool to have 'Mr Tim', 'Les Stroud' or 'the Great Bear' as member ? it might be tricky stopping some celebrities trying to take over, or 'hawking' their junk, and more work for our staff protecting the chosen ones from personal attack.
And it may be to much for the Egos of our resident MTO 'celebrities' (I'm naming nobody ::))

I wouldn´t wonder to find out that Adam is here from time to time - he´s a freak for tools and movies, and i know that he´s at least on the RPF for the movie replicas, this site would be the logical way for MTs.
Have fun.

Bye,
Michael

Hm... Hiraethus means homesick, so you're away from home. Must be in Hollywood.
What are you shooting now, Catherine? Could you sign my chest, please? I am your biggest fan  ::)

I know we have the creator of the Skeletool, mister Klecker here on the forum as a member, but he hasn't posted in some time. He did give us some tools to give away for our anniversary though. ;)

Les or Adam wouldn't surprise me too much but if they are members, I don't know their usernames. :D

Def did say we had a famous person as a member here, but he doesn't want to tell us who he/she is. :twak:

If we do have someone and he/she is reading this, maybe contact me and we can do an Interview per PM on which their favorite SAK or multi is, how they found us, how do they like to carry their gear and so on and I can then post it on the forum or the main site while keeping their username hidden. :salute:

I'm famous in my own mind, so does that count? :D

Having any of the Mythbusters on here really would be cool!

Yes. You are famous. And special.
Having the mythbusters here would be cool. If they are not already.

You found something random on MTo? Really? I don't believe that!

TBH,if there is anyone famous here,I don't see there is a need to know. In fact,we should respect their privilege of anonymity here. At work,we frequently see major celebs, and so long as they don't make a fuss, they get to be normal people.

We recently had a 'famous' person join the gun club, and I think the worst thing we done was not to allocate him an alias. I do wonder if we Havnt made a rod for our own backs?
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

If there is anybody famous we should hack their picture folders and publish their multitool pictures on the internet

We famous people want to be left alone...

Al : "Women!"

Famous people use forums to stay away from being seen. They go to great lengths to remain unseen, eg. pay any payments using their PAs PP accounts so you won't know who they are.

I have it on very good authority that Brad and Ang use blades forum, they both have a very good collection of edged tools.

It would spoil things if we were to hunt them down.

They are just MT fans like the rest of us, leave them be.

I would say so!  Did you see Mr. and Mrs. Smith?

Sadly, I do not believe we have a Mr/John Smith OR Mrs./Jane Smith on MTO. :(
