I hate to call someone out like this, but it seems that some folks just don't take a hint.  JDUB1239 was banned for cheating a bunch of people on trades.  He claimed many things were "lost" by the PO and then a month later lists the exact same item for sale or trade.  How do I know?  Easy- the black oxide OHT I bought from him got lost.  That meant I had to scramble to find another OHT to send our server host as a gift.

If that had been the only instance, then so be it, these things happen.  However, that wasn't the only case.

There was quite a lengthy list of well known, well respected members who had experienced some manner of trade issue with this individual.  After a long time trying to get all the other members' stuff or money back it seemed like everyone (except me) had been more or less satisfied, and we banned him so no one had to have this happen again.

Then Nikola noticed that he had simple created another account and attempted to pick up where he left off.  And, guess what?  Things went south again.

There have also been reported issues with this individual on other forums.

So, at the risk of upsetting a lot of people by posting someone's personal info, I strongly suggest anyone here exercises extreme caution when dealing with anyone with anything close to the following info:

Here at MTO we have always gone out of our way to keep things on an even keel, and I hate having to publish this info, however I would hate even more for anyone else to get burned. 

As we are not the Trade Police, never will be and never have been, I will not tell anyone not to deal with him.  That's not my place.  I just advise extreme caution when doing so, and request that anyone who suspects that this individual is on the forum again, please let a moderator know ASAP.

After banning him a few days ago I heard per PM of a few instances where trades with him left people with a bitter taste in their mouth so please if you have any more info, please speak up.

Also, if you feel that something is not right in a trade or sale and think a seller is trying to pull a fast one on you, let us know. If a member hadn't contacted me recently about him I never would have connected the dots.

And yes, he's created another account here again after the ban again. I haven't banned him yet to see if he has anything to say in his defense but that will happen soon.

It really irks me (to put it calmly) when someone tries to take advantage of our little community/family like this   I'm generally rather trusting of the members here, and others have been trusting of me.  I like how that works around here, and people like this guy threaten that.  Although a red flag would be people who just sign up to try to sell/trade items without any real interaction with the rest of us I suppose.  Thanks for making this call though Grant and Nikola

I was hesitant to do trading here at first, only due to the fact a lot was based on "trust". Then I discovered this is a great community and 99% of the time, you've nothing to worry about.

Thank you @detron for doing a trade with a relative unknown allowing me to start a good reputation on this forum.

Characters like the one mentioned in the OP can tend to ruin things for everyone. It sometimes creates a never ending cycle of forum veterans only willing to trade with reputable people and leaves the good honest new folk unable to build a reputation for themselves.

I'm sorry buddy, I thought you were eventually taken care of.  That's why we were waiting to ban him in the first place.

He had been sending me indignant messages about how it's difficult to make amends when we keep banning him.  I guess that was about as much bullsmurf as his "must have gotten lost in the mail" line.

He is claiming he will reimburse me this week when he gets paid. If he does it's all yours man.

Yup, we waited for months on the first ban mainly cause he didn't pay Metro back. I think it was $160 at first and then Eric even reduced the sum to $100 to make it easier.

Luckily, this is only the second time I've ever heard of bad trades on MT.O, and the first one wasn't even really trading. Hopefully this will get sorted out fast, for the victims of this character.
I've really enjoyed the few trades I've made here and sincerely hope that this is just one bad apple; I'd hate to have to double-check peoples reputations, before trading with them...

I possibly had one of the most recent "trades" with him. His claim was that he'd given my item to a friend to mail, and thought he'd ripped the item off. Needless to say it never arrived.
I was out a cybertool, but amazingly he did return it after a delay.
Before the trade I had searched MTO for his ID and feedback, but there was none, had anything negative surfaced I'd never have traded.
Later he claimed the item his friend mailed to me got returned to him.....somehow. I doubted everything at that point.

I had a similar problem. I did a trade with him and found only one comment about how something had gotten lost in the mail.  As that was what supposedly happened to me it seemed like either a- he was full of it or b- someone at his local post office is lifting packages.  Since item b is jail time and loss of a well paying job that seemed unlikely.

While I am not a Spammer, I did make sure to share this link with some other forum owners I know.  If anyone here feels it's worth passing along on other forums and groups, please be my guest.  I only ask that you update this thread with any additional info you may gather as I'd really like to make sure this guy gets black listed in as many places so no one else gets the shaft and people in the future are discouraged from doing this kind of thing.
