Has anyone seen these yet? I saw this on the news and just thought "why the heck is this on my news channel"? Seems gimmicky and honestly unnecessary. My lights have enough spill to do what these lights are doing and I like to have throw and a hot spot. I just think these lights are not worthy of mention on the news. What do you guys think?

Maybe i'm just being mean here, but I doubt these will catch on.

The scout runs on 3 AAA's and only puts out 200 Lumens for a 1 hour max.

It's not something I feel the need to run out and buy, no.

The shots of it being used as a bike light seem a pretty bad idea to me as well.  I don't know what the rules are in other countries, but here it's considered poor form to shining bright lights into the eyes any oncoming traffic. ::)

Set so the light spreads horizontally and angled down a bit it'd make a pretty good bike light - if it was brighter with a longer run time.

Indeed.  I was just pointing out that the way they were suggesting seemed like a poor choice IMO. :)

I did not even think about that issue when using it as a bike light.
