[CLOSED] GAK (FOX barand) with custom Horn scales FS(OT)

For sale or trade:

A 108mm German Army Knife made by FOX, one of the Suppliers for the Bundeswehr with custom made horn scales.
I bought it to use the scales on a Modified Vic 108 but I fear I will destroy them at the attempt to remove them.

They are quite beefy, but fit nicely and give a good grip.

Sorry for the delay, been working to 2am last couple of nights.

Looked through my stock and the canvas Micarta I made is just a few mm short of the length of 108 scales, but I do have some wood in big blanks.
I have Zebrano and Red Gum which would give two different looks.



These are shown wet with water to bring up the colour. I can finish scales in either Linseed oil or Polyurethane for a natural or glossy finish.

Looking at the 108mm GAKs I have here, there is a little bit of variation in the scales. I drilled holes using a liner I had in the spares box and it ended up slightly off for a trial fit to a B&H knife.
I will make the holes for the bushing a loose fit to allow for some adjustment and the scales can be attached with glue or double sided tape.

Contrary to my usual opinion, I think these will look better in Polyurethane. It really brings out the grain in the red gum and will help seal the grain in the zebrano.

Remember, as I only have a non-Vic GAK to use as a pattern, these scales have been made quite loose on the bushings and will need to be attached with glue or thin double sided tape. 
Actually, we have some good stuff at work, I will try to remember to "borrow" some to put in with these. Otherwise a small amount of 5 min epoxy in the bushing holes will fix these on very well.
