Nice find, thanks!  I grabbed a couple for that price.  I was thinking about some kind of portable power, but wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost.  This fits the bill quite nicely.

Yep, my thought was it could ride in my bag along with a AA flashlight.  Spare flashlight batteries, or quick phone charge.

Let us know how they work. :salute:

I had something similar a while back but after vary little use it started acting up and discharging my phone battery rather than charging it.

Actually, this is not at all a bad idea, as this device could be a life saver one day, literally speaking. Thanks for sharing, Cap'n.

I had an iGo. Still have it in a drawer somewhere. Takes forever to charge a device, doesn't charge fully,  the fixed end is awkward to have plugged into a device,  and it won't take rechargeable batteries.

I had high hopes, but all in all it was not much better than the junk Duracell version I used to carry.

It may work for you.. maybe they improved it (mine is at least 4 years old)..

I suggest spending more and getting something from Anker. My Anker is the cylinder shaped model and it works very well.

Yes, I do like the idea of using standard AA batteries so that I have spares for my lights,  but not if they don't take Eneloops and not if they don't work well.

The Anker has saved me many times, is easy to use,  has a small form factor, and has a corded jack.

I got mine in a day or so ago.  Seems to work great for what I need.  It's true that it doesn't charge very quickly, I'm sure there are better options out there.  But I was just looking for an emergency backup, so for this price, I'm pretty happy with it.  I have looked at the Anker as well, and may end up with one if I find I need more capability than this one has.

Glad to hear it works.  :tu:

If I got one it would only be for travelling or emergency situations.
