Victorinox I.N.O.X
on: October 12, 2014, 08:17:00 AM
Google seems to have discovered that I like Victorinox, and has started to bombard me with ads for their new supersolid watch. Its too expencive for me, but the promo videos are cool.
I wonder how a normal watch or a G-shock would stand up to the same tests?

Its nice to know that if you ever get run over by a tank, your watch will be fine. :D

And in few months once the novelty factor wears off...it'll be just another quartz S/S watch with rubber band and an ugly shock protector.

If you're into this sort of stuff get a G-Shock, at least they're not pretending  to be something they're not  8)

So, you should only be allowed to make solid watches that can take a real beating if you make it look like a g-shock?

Or only wear g-shocks if you are hard on your watches?

I do not agree with you on that one.

No, that's not what I said. G-shock are not meant to just "look". They are the real deal.  8)

Disagreement is good and welcome, where would be all be if everyone agreed with everyone else.  ;)

G-shocks are awesome, Im wearing one right now, but I dont think for a second, that Casio are the only ones capable of making a watch that can take a real beating.

Time will show if the Victorinox I.N.O.X is as solid as they claim it to be. ;)

Grathr, very nice ad!  Although I am a G-shock fan, it's always cool to see what tough watches are out there.  :tu:

Looks cool the watch, but for me as a g-shock user and colletor, it misses some features, i love g´s with features a lot things to do and see in the watch, not like a smarsmurfch, but ABC functions, crono world time and things like that, but that´s me, and you can have simple g´s to!
But i will wear one with proud, it´s a victorinox  :D

First impressions!

i went for the blue color rather then black (as i already have a black faced watch) and the olive was a bit too military for my liking but they all look good with their matching color bands.

the watch is slightly less tall then my g shock gw3500b and about as tall with the bumper fitted. Being that im used to wearing my ball and thats 17.3mm tall that doesnt really bother me. The inox weighs in at 138grams but as the strap is so light it makes it seem quite weighty and solid.

Mine came with a free SAK with a strap changing tool which i instantly used to put on the NATO strap it came with and it is much more comfortable that then rubber strap.

Water resistant to 200metres you never really need to worry about taking it off unlessyour diving really deep.

seems really well made if im being picky the inside of the lugs could be better finished, but you only see that when your changing straps.

I like how watches are more water resistant than I! So basically I don't have to worry about my drowned corpse not knowing the time at the bottom of the ocean...

Congrats on the new acquisition, Ryan.

So, how does the rubber face mask attach to the watch?

simply just presses on, you dont even need to take the watch off. Clips on securely too so no worries about losing it  :tu:
