of all the modern knives to choose, a Spartan Lite seems an unusual choice.

I don't particularly like it, but I wouldn't consider it to be a classic, well known or particularly interesting knife.
A Spartan, a Cybertool, Explorer or Swisschamp would all rank higher for me.
