58mm Mod Question
on:
October 17, 2014, 04:26:39 PM
I'm thinking of doing an Alox Vagabond with some leftover parts, and would like to know if the clip from the 74mm MoneyClip is a direct fit on 58mm Alox pins?

Pretty sure the clip is secured by pins that are further apart on their centers. A ruler will tell you for sure.
Edit: even if the pins are the correct spacing, wouldn't the clip be too large on the 58mm frame?

58mm pins are 1.5mm, while 74mm are 2mm, so there's that to contend with too.

Forgot about the diameter difference, but, perhaps the peening could be generous enough to capture the clip.

The pins spacing is not the same. About 7 mm on 58 mm and about 10 mm on 74 mm.

Not going to make that up with peening. Thanks for the answers!

You could get oversized pin stock then sand down a section to the right size for the 58mm, leaving the correct size for the clip.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?
