I just HAVE to comment about this, but I didn't want to put it in the actual GAW thread...

I have never seen so many low post count entries to a GAW ever... either it has dragged a lot of lurkers out of the woodwork (and that's not a bad thing) or someone is creating accounts and entering as fast as they can work their keyboard. Probably one of those damn Kiwi's  ::)

anyway, call me Mr Cynical but in just a few pages there were half a dozen with a post count of 1 and I didn't even count through the whole thread.

I would like to break a lance for those with low post count (primarily because I also joined in a July, although when I joined I was unaware of what happens in July).

I just checked the last 3 member that had entered with a low post count (but more than 1 post). All of them have signed up long before this July, they have a combined post count of 83 but only 3 entries in this years Birthday GAW!

I also checked the latest 5 member with 1 post. One has already been a member before July, one has joined during July but obviously neither of them have entered any GAW. The others have joined in September.
I think its fair to assume that they have surfaced to congratulate or leader, rather than to join the GAW.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

We had exactly ONE new registration since the Happy 40th thread was started and that member hasn't entered the giveaway. :P
