Give away.
on: October 22, 2014, 07:32:18 PM
I've got a used but good condition Gerber gator to give to a new home. It's made in USA, is actually a good knife, but it's just not my kind of knife. I'm more of a SAK and traditional pocket knife kind of guy. If I need something this big, I use a sheath knife. It comes with a nylon belt sheath.

Anyone want this knife? I'll ship to continental U.S. only.

First dibs takes it.

Dang. Mighty generous of you and if actually thought I could use it I would take it, but I really have no practical use for it. I can't believe no one has jumped on this yet. Either way it is very nice of you.

 this is starting to look like what is becoming a typical MTO thread... completely bonkers. Pretty soon it will get derailed into a discussion of what shade of pink the boss's kayak is and then develop a phase of nested quotes that threaten to break the internet.

Be assured it's no reflection on the GAW itself. But the people here are on the whole extremely generous and as you can see won't jump on something free "just because it's free" if they don't feel they have a need for it if there is a chance there is someone else who would be a more deserving recipient.
(read that a couple of times... it makes sense eventually).

It's common to see many people post in GAW draw threads saying they won something x months ago so will "sit this one out".
Generous, honest people.. one of the things that makes this forum so great.

Actually, there's a thought. turn this into a GAW draw and you might get some of these shy people to put their hand up...
Just run it better than Stew's draw. That list is a nightmare!!

And yes, its a very nice GAW, except for the conus part  :D

Yes, this is a very generous forum and an unusual one in that people (freeloaders) don't mob a giveaway thread with Me, me, me. Quite the opposite of my experience over at an unnamed knife forum.

Okay, maybe I'll try some reverse psychology;

Attention, I am not trying to give away a Gerber Gator, clip point plain edge., in very good condition, so if you live in the continental U.S., please don't bother me with your address to mail it to.

Let's see how that works!
 :D

This thread and GAW is awesome.   While a great knife it would not see much use in my hands so.........   Good luck and congrats to whomever claims this.

Very generous of you cbl51  :hatsoff:.

I just searched the internet a bit to see what a Gerber Gator actually was :-[ (in my defense, Gerber stuff is quite rare here in Belgium  ::)), and I must say it looks great.

Now, who will bite ...
