I don't know if I could just display it. I think I'd succumb to the temptation of carrying it in a watch pocket and using it. It's just tooooo pretty to sit home. mean, how classy is it to pull out a hammered silver SAK to cut something with? Especially if it's an event. One time a few years ago, the better half and I were at an event down at the Kennedy Center For The performing arts, here in Washington D.C. Black tie event and I had a tux on. Not liking to go anywhere without a knife, I had a silver alox classic in my pocket. At the halftime of the play, we all went out to the lobby where the girl had the bar set up, and she was trying to open the box that had jars of olives init, for the martini's. A Bic pen wasn't working too good, so in the interest of getting my drink quicker, I offered her the classic. It zipped open the box, and she handed me back the little SAK, and said, "Thank you, what a pretty little knife, Mr, …" and she stopped not knowing my name. So I, at a black tie event, tux, nice young lady, couldn't pass up being a smart a$$."Bond. James Bond." was all I said. It got a few laughs. I can't imagine cool it my have ben to pull out a real silver handled SAK!
Ashley, that is a beautiful SAK!!!!!I look at it this way, you came, you saw, you liked, so you bought. Whatever you paid is worth it if it bakes your cookie. I've thought about getting one of those myself since Ilove the little classic sooooo much.
Anyone knowhow the silver scales are attached to the knife? I was just wondering if they snap on like the cellidor, and if they can be replaced on a new classic?
