111mm SAK's
on: November 01, 2014, 11:12:25 AM
At what point did you just loose your s*** and just buying 111mm Vic SAK's like they were going out of business? I really like the 111mm range. At this point I only have a Soldier 2012 and a Parachutist (plus a spare just in case I pull off the mod of the century) and have been resisting the urge to buy more. :ahhh I was visiting Webers World yesterday and I almost bought another 4 because they looked so pretty! :o And they were not even on my list. Well... they are now but... I have not even picked up a Rescue tool yet because I don't even carry my Spyderco Rescue Assist on duty.
But seriously what first caught my eye was the Picnicker when I used to do allot of camping and I remember thinking it was a real pain to do any serious cutting or even food prep with a 91mm SAK. But back then I was all about single tool carry  (I was just a kid). Either The Worker or Swiss champ and no in between. I saw that the Swiss Army went for 111mm  :multi: and thought  "Hey these guys are onto something".
Eventually even McGyver got himself a Leatherman

Just a couple for me, OHT (combo edge) and Outrider, but I like them both quite a bit.

I believe my 111's are breeding.I just did a cursory count and discovered 18 of these rascals. HHHMMMM!

I know there is one more that I will buy and that's the GAK variation.Well maybe I'll buy an Outrider as well.

I just have the one .... a Skipper. I popped off the scale and removed the locking mechanism when I nearly had a nasty injury because of it. Much happier now I can use it safely - bloody blade locks, ruining perfectly good knives

It lives in my kitchen and sees a fair bit of use. No yearnings for any more 111s though. One is enough

I was able to stop myself at the Adventurer and OHT. Never really got used to the liner or button lock thing.
