mine arrived today! sorry for the flash-heavy pics, but I didn't want to wait for better lighting because that would have meant waiting until daylight tomorrow. I received a very generous gift from eddie1115... a Huntsman, a Compact, and an iTP A3 EOS Titanium light! (Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)eddie and I completed a trade a couple months ago where he traded me a modded Yeoman, and he put new Sapphire plus scales on it for me. why do I bring this up? because he remembered how badly I wanted green scales, but we couldn't find any green plus scales at the time of our trade! these translucent green (emerald?) plus scales are gorgeous... now I just have to decide whether to put them on the Yeoman or leave them on the Compact. truly a terrible problem to have, I know. thank you very much, eddie. this was a great gift to receive, and it really made my day. now I've just got to carry this Huntsman and Compact as much as I can in the next 5 days before Kampfer's Skeletool challenge begins...oh, and you have great taste in lights as well... my normal EDC light is an Olight i3S. might have to give that one a break and go with titanium for awhile!
Glad you like them! When I got your name in the draw, I knew I needed something with emerald scales. And if you decide to move the scales, you can always tear down the Compact and put the parts into your next LM mod

I had the biggest grin on my face when I opened the box and saw the emerald scales. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to move them over to the Yeoman (because I really like the sapphire scales too), but I'll be sure to let you know if I do.

I'm comparing the icar GAK to the vic GAK (Image removed from quote.)
Both GAK's feature's are the same but the icar looks as though the pieces were copied from the Vic. The icar scales just aren't as crisp looking as the Vic's. The blade of the icar doesn't look as nicely finished as the Vic's. Really neat to see the 2 together. Thanks again breezy12

The ICAR, among others, was a licensed product issued to the Bundeswehr, not a Copy/Knockoff. The knives were produced to the same standards by a few knife makers across Europe and while all do their job, there are differences in fit and finish. AFAIk the Bundeswehr took the VIC as a template and others ahd to build to those specifications.There are minor differences, some use steel liners and steel pins, the finish on the tool differs from polished (Vic, Adler, Aitor) to visible grind marks (CCM, ICAR, B&M).There are a few threads about the GAK here.There have been Copies, too. I would avoid these. I have seen unbranded, FOX, CJH, MFH, Mil Tec. While some are decent, you never know until you receive the knife. Many of those brands are just marketing barnds and put their stamp o knives from different suppliers. So you might get a well made GAK Copy from one of the actual manufacturers or a cheap POS.
