Hello from Lake Constance
on: November 06, 2014, 06:09:36 PM
Good evening, everyone!

I came to this place about a weak ago, because I was abandoned by my long time companion, my trusty and reliable Swisstool (well, to be honest, I dropped it into a swedish lake during a fishing trip). And I came here to inquire about possible replacements. After a long while of long and hard thinking, I got a Leatherman Charge TTI (with a Bitkit and a Bitextender). And when it arrived by mail, I instantly loved it. It was so sleak, so well designed, so... modern.

But after lurking this forum for a couple of days, I came to the realization, that 'want' is stronger than 'need'.

I just ordered a Surge, a Skeletool CX, a Micra, a Style, a Brewzer and a folding knife (god knows why).  :mail:
And I am already wondering if I should get another swisstool, because it is much more people friendly.

So, I guess I am addicted. Thanks guys.  :ahhh

It was time to make an account and well, here I am. :D

Welcome!  Didn't even let us talk you into anything first, and already ordered quite a haul  :tu:  But there's more time and there are plenty more tools we could talk you into, so no worries there   Enjoy the "want vs need" struggle, most of us here lose that one often.  Now we need pics of your Charge, and the rest when it comes in  :pok:

Greetings and Welcome,

Didn't take much convincing huh.  Sorry to hear about the Swisstool but as a result you get to play with other tools.  If the Swisstool still calls out to you then by all means go for it, especially if yours was an older one.  The redesign plier head is pretty nice and makes sense too.

Looks good to me.

It is a really nice tool. Feels very good in the Hand as well, almost no noticeable edges, apart from the Pocketclip of course.

It shall ride in my bag for a long time. :)

Thanks! I stole it from the Internet a long time ago.

In my younger days, long nights were spent rolling dice and drinking beers.

OK....this might be the right place for this question.   Many moons ago, I lost a
Leather Wave, first generation... I am a die hard yuppie and the features that I
miss are the shrimp fork and the pate spreader.  They've discontinued this but
why would they do that, they had a niche perhaps non-existent market but
I miss the spreader - good for pate, jam, butter, etc without tearing the bread.

Anybody have an alternative.  It was also had real tools that were handy.

Nett Dich bei uns zu haben.

No don't go dropping any more multitools overboard. It's frowned upon. :P

Well as it's a Swisstool, if you fish it out in a few months or years, it should be good to go even then. >:D Know anyone who's into diving?
