Survivor Firestarter.
on: November 07, 2014, 05:55:44 AM
This is a rather large firestarter, but then it has a few worthwhile features to it that I think is worth the extra size.

As you can see from the above photos, there is an analogue thermometer built into the handle, and a compass on the butt end of the firestarter. The firestarter itself contains a good sized round chunk of magnesium, and a firesteel of good size attached above the magnesium. Included on a string, is a metal scrapper that is attached to the handle. Overall, a very nice design I would like to add that the compass, although not fluid dampened, appeared to be very accurate and responsive to directional changes. In other words, they used a good quality button style compass that functions as it should.

Fire Starter kit is the most important tool you want to place in your Bug Out Bag. It perfect to start fire in any survival situations.
If I need to pick some good EDC tools.
Then I would take my love leatherman multi tool wave and a flash light. Other are just a waste !!!

Yes I have, and it works great. The nice thing about this piece of kit, everything is large enough that anyone can get a great spark out of it. Enough Magnesium for many fires. I have a few tiny magnesium rods that require a little too much dexterity to get anything out of them.
