Waved OHO SAK?

I looking at getting a trekker OHO SAK and thought that it deserved to be waved but was wondering if anyone had modded one before and had some examples. I have not been able to find a topic if it was posted.

I have done it. Works great. But I don't have any pics. Don't own the OHT that i did that mod to anymore.

The "Wave" refers to the Emerson wave developed by Ernie Emerson. Spyderco's or other knives can be modified by cutting out the front of the hole to make a wave or putting a zip tie on the top of the hole. The "wave" catches your pocket as you pull it out of your pocket and opens it for you.

I did the same to a €5 knife but same principle: You saw/file away some of the metal from the hole and leave a "hook" that functions as an aid to opening the blade as you take it out of your pocket.


We can get a similar result by using a zip-tie. It keeps the knife original structure and allows you to undo the transformation.

The OHT fliks open pretty fast with the wave. A lot faster than you would think.

Probably because I made it up  .
