Credit to you for dealing with this is such a calm way. Photos = multitools, sounds good. Also nice that you have struck up a good relationship via email, sounds like a good website, I wonder if they ship to the UK.......

Actually, they even have a British branch ;) http://www.knivesandtools.co.uk/
Also German and French, btw. :P

Although, it does seem they are run not completely together. The Dutch website does offer international shipping, if you'd like any help, let me know ;)

Latest update:

Just received an answer from the shop, they thanked me for taking it so well, and they picked one of the tools on my "wanted tools" list and said they would send it to me as a gift.  I'm not going to tell you guys which tool it is yet, I will post pics here when it arrives  :P.

Guess I will have to do some saving to get the other tools on that list, and seeing Leatherman tools are quite cheap on this site (compared to the prices in Belgium that is, not the ones in the U.S. ... ), I think I'm going to post an order there somewhere around the coming holidays  ;).

So, I guess I will have to play "the waiting game" for now, until  ...  :mail:

Guess what I got in the mail today ...  :D

Here's the BO Rebar they gave me to make things right, no need to say that I'm over the moon with this generous gift.

For your information, the BO Rebar is not available in the local shops here, they only have the stainless Rebar and this one costs about 88 Euro, and a BO one would surely go for about 10 Euro more than the stainless one, that is if you could get your hands on one through the Belgian dealers, so a very nice gift indeed  :D.

Looks like this story gets a happy ending, and I would like to thank the webshop for setting things right.  I'm not the first person here to have his pics stolen on the net, but I do think I'm the first one to get an apology and a free tool out of it.

So, once more, respect for the webshop for the way they handled this, I know they gained at least one new customer with this  ;).

That is simply awesome!

But 90 Eur for a Rebar ?!?! :(
You could pick 3-4 of those on eBay, new with or without packaging.

So how do our fellow Belgians and other heavily taxed Europeans source their share of multi-tools and other EDC stuff from outside EU, these days?
EDC and OCD. A wicked mix.

We've had topics about the "European" Leatherman prices before, so I'm not going to sum them all up again, but I can say one thing, if Leatherman used prices like this in the U.S., I think they would sell 70% less tools compared to what they do now.

And I for one really don't like eBay, never had and never will ...  I guess I'm one of those "old-fashioned" guys who likes to buy something from a "real person" on the other side of a counter, so that, in the event that there's something wrong with what you bought, you can go to that person on the other side of the counter and tell him to fix it.
And if he's not very co-operative pull him over the counter ...  :viking:

If I had the choice, I would like it when Tim (Felinevet) from EDCSource would have more Leatherman Tools for sale at "American" prices.  I know that I don't have "the guy at the counter" this way, but with Tim online buying is just as good in my view.

Another quick update ...

I just placed my first order at this site, so I guess we both got something out of this, I got myself a beautiful BO Rebar and they have a new customer  ;).

And no, I'm not going to tell you guys which tool I bought because this one is going under the christmas tree (my dear wife lets me pick the tool(s) I want as a present myself, since I always have like 5 of them that I would like, and she doesn't want to pick one to buy for me ...  ;)).

Anyway, all I can say is that I'm pretty excited about this one since it has been on my wishlist for quite some time now  :D.

I'm a little late to this thread but better late than never.LOL

I've read all pages and do believe TG-24 that you deserve the Rebar they sent to you and more.

From the very first time I viewed your pictures I knew they were special. If I remember correctly the word I used was magnificent. You must take a great deal of time, preparation and skill to produce such pictures and you deserve the recognition.

Congratulations brother.

Thanks for the kind words my friend  :salute:.

I do love taking pics, I'm so far gone that I even start to see pictures when I don't have my trusty Canon with me, I see a nice setting and think to myself "if only I could place my Swisstool here, and then take a pic from this angle ...".  The Swisstool is with me for about 90% of the time, but my Canon isn't ... (maybe I should think about adding my Canon to my EDC setup  ;)).

I must admit that it's mostly thanks to digital photography that I've learned to take better pics, experimenting while taking pics doesn't cost a fortune anymore, like in the old days.  So it's mostly a game of trial and error in the beginning.  And once you know which angles and what lighting works, it's quite easy.

P.S. I've got myself a new tool last week, and I've taken some nice pics of it this afternoon, I'm going to post them later this evening  ;).
