Hey guys, I've searched but didn't find the answers I was looking for:-If one does a mod (blunt nose pliers, cutting the case or caps for toothpick/pen), are you still covered? -I will find out next week if the cutters on the pliers are covered or not, but are they? Is there a actual list of what is under warranty? And how do they know if your tool is under the 25 year mark? Thanks!

Damaged wire cutters are pretty much the only thing I have heard of them not covering under warranty. They know how old the tool is from date stamp inside the handles. If their is no date stamp they will have a general idea as they can use other methods of dating the tool. Leatherman has said he will most likely replace tools over the 25 year warranty out of honor of someone using the tool for so long, but that is not guaranteed. With all that said they have a excellent customer service so you never know what they will be willing to cover under warranty. What tool did you send in?
This warranty does not cover abuse, alteration, theft, loss, or unauthorized and/or unreasonable use of your Leatherman product. This warranty does not cover sheaths, accessories, imprinting, color finishes, cleaning, or sharpening.
