Gerber MP1 Military MRO 30-001013N version

Looks like Gerber will make a military version of their MP1 multitool, number 30-001013N.

A cotter pin hook replaces the smallest, flat screwdriver blade found on the commercial version MP1.  There is supposed to be a file with a tire tread depth gauge, though I don't see it in the photo.

The photo shows a lanyard attachment point.  Does the commercial MP1 have one?

The handles are listed as being glass filled nylon instead of the G10 on the commercial version.

This description from Knife Center says the "MP1 Military MRO Multi-Tool comes with a MOLLE compatible Tan 499 nylon sheath and a 12-piece bit set."

I wonder if all of the parts on the military MP1 will be made in USA, unlike the commercial version.

Yes the MP1-MRO looks like it could be a nice EDC.  I also like what they did with the new bit kit.

I was interested in the new Gerber MP1 Military MRO, which was supposed to have a file, tread depth gauge, and a cotter pin hook.  But, this tool's future is in doubt.

The Knife Center MRO web page I was monitoring now says it is discontinued.  I sent Gerber an inquiry about the MRO, but received no response.

I really want to like the MP1. But at that price point/weight/size it has a pitiful load-out in my opinion. Honestly, if they would just replace one of the knives with scissors or a saw, I'd be on the MRO like white on rice.

At any rate, it is a cool looking tool.

Or replace the small flat driver with scissors. I haven't bought it for the same reason. It looks great tho.
