I used to tell the joke 'How many Lieutenants does it take to change a lightbulb? Three Airmen." It'd be the same joke for the army, but 'Privates' instead of 'Airmen'.

We ALL know that the enlisted get the majority of everything done that the military does. They just don't always do it ... you know... quickly. Or efficiently, or well, or safely, or ...

I'm sure those soldiers had REALLY given it hell just before you showed up.

Also... HOLY SMURF!!!! A PULL TAB!!!  :o
That's like seeing an 8-track cassette.

How do you open a can without a pull tab?

With a can opener :D.

In all seriousness, I think the pull tab on that coke is a different style from the typical North American version.

Let me be clear. That's a PULL tab, not a stay-on-tab. In North America, I haven't seen a pull tab for... jeez... like 20 years.

Maybe the wiki article will make things clearer.

My husband mentioned that on his walking route, he noticed a pull tab laying in the street. I told him to take a picture of it as 'archaeological evidence'. He thought I was weird.

Umm no comment.  :pok:

So Little Boy had an easy but very rewarding day. I may have said it here but it seems our mail system is getting it self sorted and we had another mail call today.

While we was hard at work saving the smurf out of Afghanistan the Chaplain comes by handing out letters to everyone. Opening letters is easy work for LB so in no time it is mission complete.

Nice work Little Boy. Now lets see what this letter is all about.

Little Boy wanted me to make sure to thank Caroline R. from Manhattan Beach, CA for her great letter.

Thanks Caroline.

Fat Man bombing his little brothers thread

BOOM

Might as well just send Fat Man over here so he can go back to being Little Boy's wingman.

No pictures today because we have a new internet company that frankly is smurf. Sitting here watching the little green page loading circle go round and round on photobucket.

Turns out Afghanistan might not be the best place to surf the internet.

Ok so photobucket finally got around to loading. Putting this into a new post rather then editing in order to support Grant's 1 million post attempt.

Well Little Boy is still here making Afghanistan safe and spreading democracy whether they want it or not. It seems I forgot to grab my phone this morning so no action pics but when we got back to the room LB was nice enough to pose for a shot.

Yeah I think it will be a little faster during non prime time surfing. Everyone on the internet writing home and such before bed right now.

I bought a month of this service so being cheap and everything I am stuck with it.

They are setting up a new wi-fi system so hopefully that will be better.

As long as you can still upload pics I'll be ok

After a uneventful 8 hour shift in the tactical operations center or TOC, it was time to wash and pack away some giant tents so they could be sent back to the states.

Being the boss I got to drive the fork lift.  :tu:

Little Boy decided that he should drive the forklift. Here he is giving it a go.

I suppose it would have been fine if you only needed to go straight and had no need to raise or lower the forks. Well that or use the brakes or push the gas.

No matter LB we got a leaking fuel line and we need your help.

Another successful day with Private Little Boy.

I just noticed something looking at that picture.

On the side of the M67 fragmentation grenade it says. Frag, delay.

I would certainly hope so.

If that is written out on this model, there has to be one without a delay right?

Still here bringing freedom to Afghanistan. Lost our good internet service so having some issues posting pictures.

Hope to do at least one more update before the SKTC begins and Little Boy goes on leave.
