Victorinox in "Touching the Void"

If you have not seen this film it is highly highly recommended.
It's an amazing survival story about two mountaineers one of whom had an accident on Suila Grande high up in the Andes probably about 20 years ago now.
The film was made about 10 years ago and it is brilliantly done.
The film recreates the action and story - but intersperses the action with documentary style interviews with the two climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates.

Can't believe this is not already mentioned on this board - However a Vic makes a couple of appearances in this film. One of them, at one of the crux points in the film, and for what was a very, very well known, and hotly debated incident, in mountaineering circles and history. I won't spill the beans  for those who may yet see the film.

I know the book backwards and have seen Joe Simspon lecture, but the film brings another whole dimension to the story. I was lucky enough to be at a preview in Dublin, just before the film went on general release, at which the director introduced the film.
And saw it for the second time on the telly last night.  :D

Talking of Dublin - Do we have any Irish members here? - I cannot recall ever seeing any.

Great film - like a movie version of "I Shouldn't Be Alive", but better.
