Well it installed.

Some of the apps I regularly use seem much quicker loading, especially Star Wars Commander/Galactic Defense which were painfully slow loading on my nexus 7 with 5.0.2, but notably less slow on 5.1

Remains to be seen how stable it is over time, and what battery life is like. So far it's much more what 5.0 should have been in the first place, or more how it feels on my Nexus 4.

The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

even using Chrome has become painfully slow on my Nexus 7 with 5.0.2. :( I'm really hoping for an improvement on 5.1, otherwise I think I'm gonna go back to 4.4.

The tweaks in this thread helped my usability in 5.0.2

So far 5.1 has been OK, and I haven't done any of the previous tweaks yet. It definitely feels better than before so whatever they fixed certainly helped. I am tempted to do a factory reset and see if it gets better still.

thanks for letting us know. :salute:

I used the tweaks in this thread as well, but my N7 has still been crawling. I'm tempted to do the factory reset as well...

I will try the update and factory reset on my N7 this weekend and see what happens.

I would very much like to see it working again.  It was a very nice machine.

Well it's been a week, finally noticing slowdown, to the point where even a power off/on didn't help. I went into my apps and cleared cache on a lot of the ones that I use a lot, and that seems to have fixed it a bit. Also looks like the update either kept my "animations off" tweak or implements that as part of the update.

I definitely need to try a factory reset on 5.1 before any further judgement, but as it is now, while I was mostly happy with the 5.1 update at first, it's looking like I'll be flashing back to 4.4 which is sad.

My N7 is updating now.  I'll have a look at it tonight when I am done work and see what it's like.

After a few weeks with the latest on my N7, I'm still tempted to roll back to 4.4

my nexus4 however is great on 5.0

I upgraded my Tab S to 5.1.  No problems at all.
