So, how did you find the MTO forum?

Yeah, yeah typical marketing question I know.
But what brought you here?

This is another good time for some of you lurkers to let us know too!

For me it was the Mod Squad board (which I found through google searches, for the marketing aspect ;) )  I was looking for tips/instructions on how to mod SAKs.  I also had a couple Leatherman tools so I quickly got sucked into the rest of the forum.

I honestly do not remember how I specifically found the forum. Most likely it was searching for info on a tool or knife and I just so happen to run across it through a google search.

I was knocked out, had a bag put over my head, was dragged to bmot's basement, had a car battery hooked up to me, and was forced to listen to someone say over and over and over.  "Come to MT.O, we have cookies".

I was also told to never tell that story, but instead say that I was looking for info on getting my first good MT, and found this place from a Google search.   :D

That's odd...my story is similar to yours

I actually ended up on the main page reading reviews when I was still fairly new to the MT/SAK addiction and reading up on all kinds of stuff.  I noticed the Forum tab and clicked on that and discovered this world.  I don't think I lurked very long before I joined either.  I knew fairly early on while reading some of the threads that I would fit in just fine ;)

This I had no clue,, so I went into my profile and looked up my first post. So it looks as if I was interested in SAK's but I've already had my fair share of them and wanted to get into alox! And possibly getting a custom. JR

I started getting a bit 'gear obsessed', which led me to watching videos on youtube on 'EDC'. When I wanted to talk to folks about it, I started looking online, and found a (will remain unnamed) prepper forum, that were, frankly, f'ing crazy. I backed away slowly, and found the Zombie Squad Forums, which as strange as it might sound, were WAY more sane.

In a discussion thread on multitools, Airballrad invited me to come join the fun here, and I did. Now, I spend about 99.5% of my forum surfing here, and only occasionally check back on the Zombie Squad Forums. The folks there are, by net standards, pretty nice, but nothing like the atmosphere here.

Zombie Squad IS quite sane. They even disallow looting etc, as for them Zombie is an euphemism for whatever might happen.

There I was, perfectly happy with just a Tinker, when I saw a Wenger in a store.  It got me curious about how many different SAK models were out there, and I found the SOSAK website.  I saw an article by a certain Mike S. about the Farmer, liked what I saw, and did a web search.  Next thing I knew, a Farmer was on its way, I was a member here, and the rest is history.......
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D
