Hi from Minnesota
on: November 20, 2014, 10:10:30 PM
Just wanted to say hi !   I found this forum when I was researching what new multi tool to buy. I've had an original Leatherman pst since early 90's and have carried for work almost everyday. I've also got a Schrade and a Swiss Army MT but don't like them as much as the Leatherman, they are both stiff and awkward in comparison..

I just got today my new Leatherman Rebar and I like it a lot so far. I look forward to reading through the forums.

Greetings and Welcome,  very neat that you went from the PST to the Rebar.  Some call it the modern PST so it no wonder you were drawn to it.  Cool pic.

Welcome to the forums !

You say you find a Swisstool stiffer than a Leatherman?

Has that Leatherman been through Hell and got loose? Have you tried washing the Swisstool and then oiling it ?

Something's wrong I tell ya

Yes, it's sort of stiff but the main thing is with my meaty fingertips with short nails it's really hard to get  any of the tools deployed.

I can understand that part with the fingernails. Its the contrary with me, I can open my LM Flair and a friend's original Wave easily but I keep thinking that if I were to do this frecuently then tools clumping would soon become painful. The Swisstools are notorious for their silk-smooth action so I prefer a Vic Spirit (like them better anyways) since even my wife could use it if needed, that's all.
