Would my Kick pass through TSA?
on: November 22, 2014, 04:32:08 PM
I am flying from Greece to Germany next Saturday.  As I hate being separated from my MT's I, have modified my Kick so that to get it on board . I would like your opinion on this issue.  Would it pass through or not???

I have scored this tool for almost nothing from e bay.  So I think it is worth it for the experience and have a case study in the forum. Of course I intend to deploy it and let it through the scanner
From Athens to Germany I think there will be no prob., my main concern is from Germany to Athens what will happen. ...
On Tuesday,  when I get back home we will have the answer.

To be honest... it's up to the guy searching the luggage, more than the airport...
I've seen tiny scissors and nailfiles confiscated and I've seen full sized saks passing without any issues in the same airport.

I suppose you are right. . ...but anyway this is crazy. .The thing is that the often travellers that happens to be MT's obsessed,  have no way to carry any kind of tool on board

By letter of regulation, it should pass through.

As for how that works in reality...

If you have concerns, you might print out the PDF I linked above, to show them in writing what their own regs are, in the event there's any confusion. But the folks in the airport really have the ultimate say, and I certainly wound't argue with them if they said it was a no-go.

...Kick pass... sounds familiar. Nice way to confuse net nanny. "Let's kick some pass".
Do as Lynn says or check in your bag.

I already have the regulation in mind but I 'm still not sure , especially for the Getman folks. ..and of course I am not going to play the hard guy with Airport security;)

Unfortunately my flight is booked 6 months ago with a really cheap deal and it is only allowed one hand bag!

I wouldn't be confident a Style PS would get through but if it didn't at least it is a current product.

Risk it with a retired tool?  Nope.

Buy a cheapo at the other end if you really need an MT.
