My bad, this one is nickel silver liners, the yellow brass liners are in another one being built.

In the spirit of "full disclosure" this one is a "build up" from the pile of parts.
But it's a cool little Climber small with +ARMEE SUISSE tang stamped blade, old-skool 84mm scissors. (okay, with non period spring::)) and original Horn scales.

That's right, turn the knife in the wound even further  :tu:

PS: The "Leftovers" Solo, no tang stamp, green canvas micarta ? Awesome.

Just to keep things interesting, I decided to make the scales for this undated Elsener Schwyz out of Buffalo horn. I was getting bored with ebony... NOT.
Going by Ulli's tang stamp chart, the font used in the tang stamp appears to date this one as pre-1931.

Picked up this today ..... and I love it :)

keeping it safe :)

this shows the beautiful combination of brass steel red gum and ebony

Not great photos but this is the best knife I own :)

Oh and 91mm.

This model has been a favorite of mine but the standard scales are so delicate it is not useable ... these are rock solid :)

This one is more of a repair than anything else. It's an undated Wengerinox and had a broken backspring in the opener layer.
I measured up the spring thickness from the five "Box of Death" knives and took the closest to replace the broken spring. This left me with the parts that I built the 1908 Solo from.

Yes, technically I have used a carbon spring in an inox knife, but hey, it's fixed... sue me.

I wanted to retain the original fibre scales but the material around the holes wasn't in the best of shape. I drilled the holes oversize and made up some plugs from scrap scales. These were glued in with superglue and then sanded back to the original contour.

Again, Yes, you can see where it was done, but it's still more original than newly made wood scales.

So, on with the pictures...  which for some reason look like they were taken with a potato.
