Which Skinth for me?
on: December 02, 2014, 04:18:38 AM
So, I'm looking for an alternative to the holster that came with my Charge TTi.

I want to carry 2 x bit kits, as well as the LM bit extender, and an i3s.

Will the 2 bit kits fit in the front of a Skinth M Shield? I want it as low profile as possible...

I don't think the bit cards will fit in the front pocket of an M Shield. the front pocket of the L Shield is designed to hold one bit card, and it's definitely larger than the M.

I have an L Shield on the way; I can try loading it up with those items when it arrives and getting some pics for you. :mail:

I would appreciate the pics, if I can hold out that long!

I sent metro a message on skinthsolutions, but I might also message him here - thanks for the tip!

Does he still customize them at all?

OK. I'm sure he's pretty busy! I'll try and be patient!  :ahhh

Does anyone know if he will still make minor adjustments to the standard models?

Only he can answer that. :) I think he has about a month backlog or he did. And X-mas coming isn't helping.

OK, thanks. Everyone is always busy at Christmas - really, they should be relaxing!  :dd: In the meantime, I guess I'll just drool over the skinth loadout thread...

Would the side pockets of the M Shield hold the LM bit extender more securely than the standard Charge sheath?

The other day, while I was running, the bit extender fell out, and luckily I heard it fall, and ended up searching around for it in the dark, while it was raining.  Thankfully, I had a flashlight with me!  :tu:

So, will a Skinth M Shield fix this issue?

Well, the Skinth's side pockets are closed-bottomed, so it wouldn't slip out downward, at least :)

Alright, thanks for that. Hopefully the flap covers the top of the side pocket properly?

The flap covers the side pockets depending on the width of the tool in the center pocket.
To secure the bit adaptor, some users on here did use pocket clips from cheap pens, scribes and the like. I guess someone with better Google fu can add a link or pic.
I don´t have a Charge, but my Spirit rides in the L-shield comfortably with some room left. I carry a Bullet pen and a solitaire in the sidepockets.

Here's the answer. And sorry if I haven't contacted you...it's kind of crazy over here.

You need a xl-shield to carry 2 bit kits. The extra girth will allow for the expansion and the rest of your kit will fit nicely.
Why stop now?
