Stanley FatMAX utility knife multi-tool.
on: December 03, 2014, 02:52:28 AM
I was given a most generous gift from a fellow forumite from the UK. This gift is something I haven't seen before, and it is a bit odd in that it spans the utility knife, and multi-tool. I collect both...thus this particular tool is somewhat of a double interest for me.

This strange tool is a combination utility knife, pliers, and 1/4" bit screwdriver.

The pliers on this are a bit naff. The screwdriver on the other hand is rather nice. Both tools are locked and unlocked by pressing that big central yellow button. Both tools feature multiple stops, so you can angle your tool to your preference...which is a nice touch.

Not sure if the tool came with another double ended bit, as there is an empty storage for one on the handle. Adding and removing the utility blade is cinch, and the blade itself has several stops allowing you to control the depth of the blade.

Overall, a weird and wacky tool, and I do love the weird and wacky. I would like to extend a big thank you to the UK member who so generously gifted me this beautifully awkward tool.  :salute:

Any one seen the 4 "new" multi tools Stanly has on holiday display at Walmart?

Three are rebrands of the Shefield hammer, axe and wrench multi tools.
The 4th appears to be a folding hex key set with no hex wrenches but rather screwdriver, a knife, a file or saw, and folding needle nose pliers.

I'm not impressed even at 10$ maybe if clearance at 5....I don't need them, wouldn't use them so they'd just be going in a drawer anyway. Yep, unless they clearance after Christmas I'm' not buying.
