OPMT on Canadian TV
on: December 04, 2014, 02:52:33 PM
This is really cheating, but the Cha-O-Ha EDC Card was featured on the Canadian TV show: The Social, as part of their "Unique gift ideas for men" bit.

(at the 4.15 mark)

I doubt it's the kind of show that the majority of our members would be watching, but it's interesting to see how the guy tries to explain such a tool to the layperson. Plus I think "Torture Device" is what I'm going to call it from now on.

I can't help thinking that 60 bucks is a bit high for that MT. http://www.cha-o-ha.com/collections/frontpage/products/edc-card-the-everyday-carry-multi-tool

She was indeed, despite the fact that "functionalities" isn't a word. I wish women got that excited when I show them my tool.

To some extent I agree with you, but the tool is unique in it's use of such high-end stainless blade steel, which will always be an expensive option. The steel has to be cyrogenically quenched after all. I personally think the EDC Card isn't great as a "my first OPMT", which would have been the case with the kind of audience that show would have reached. Certain advantages the card may have over other, cheaper tools, are only advantages if considered so. To some it's worth it, but to others not so much. That's way there are so many of the damned things on the market.
