Can you tell me the size of the USB holder? Is it easy to replace the memory part? I thought of buying a smaller capacity SAK and substitute the memory "card". Anyone tried this?

Yup, it's doable. The plastic/metal housing is just that, a housing. The black portion/card is a simple small USB bit and slides out of there fairly easily. It should fit a standard sized, modern USB flash memory card.

To the OP: great work on the mod! The peening looks like it came out nicely. I might caution against peening with the memory stick in place so as not to risk damaging it. The Rambler USB is the quintessential 58mm mod IMHO. Why Victorinox doesn't make it as a factory model is beyond me; it'd sell like hotcakes.
