Another Aussie - Perth, Western Australia.
on: December 21, 2014, 05:25:16 PM
Started lurking this forum a few weeks back after seeing some cheap Leatherman prices on OzBargain and doing some research. Here's my Multitool story:

About 8 years ago when I left my old job I got a Leatherman as a going away present. It looked shiny & expensive but I had no real use for it, I sit in front of a computer all day for work. So it stayed in the box collecting dust...

Then 3 years ago we stopped renting and had or own house built. It's on a small block so no room for a big shed/man cave. But I carved out a tiny 4m x 3m addition to the garage for my workshop & started acquiring woodwork tools for DIY house projects. I've always enjoyed making stuff with my own two hands but computers kind of took over in my teen years and I didn't have the opportunity to do much else. In my little workshop I'm able to get back into it and away from the screens. Next thing I'm spending far too long and way too much money in hardware and tool shops. Before you know it, I'm considering my EDC (only learned that acronym the other week =] ), and I remember that MT sitting in it's box somewhere.

Dig it out of storage, turns out it's an original Charge Ti, very nice!

Now I'm already onto my second Leatherman and scouring eBay for more nice, used (because Aus retail prices are redonkulous) examples to add to my collection. Cheers!

Welcome.  Watch out for the very skilled "Personal Shopping Assistants" (a.k.a.  enablers) that lurk around here, they can be bad for your finances  ;)

Welcome! One of my first big FleaBay buys was a Leatherman Charge AL...

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
