Are you finding the PS4 is handling all your plier duties, Kampfer?
They are better then pliers on 91mm SAK I'd say.

I'd agree with that  :tu:

Hey @Kampfer I am having trouble getting the drivers onto the plier side due to the riveted spring bar tensonioner. I have tried pressing it down, but that only helps getting one on. First LM mod for me, really hoping to get this one done. Thanks!

Hi, I used a pony spring clamp to counter the tension.
If that doesn't work then you should check the shape of yours drivers to make sure they match the shape of pliers.

I was able to get them on, which was very difficult at first lol. The drivers will not straighten out without shaving it looks like, is this correct? Thanks kampfer!

Not an expert by any means but I do remember it being said the tools will need some grinding.

I am sure one of the experts will come along and sort you out once they wake up.

Got me a care package from Kamasaurus today.

The Sidekick pliers are kinda neat how they open on there own. Still ripping it apart after work though.

Time to reread the threads and see what is up with the file/grinding.

Now instead of having a Sidekick or a PLSK I have a pile of parts and a pliers head that wont come off the dang handle.

Took the screws, blade, pocket clip and brass washer off. I am guessing it is some kind of sleeve press fitted in the hole but before I start whacking it I thought I would ask here.

Pretty close to finding a big hammer and going this route.  :twak:

No trick to it, I the the spring tension bar is giving you smurf.
force it out with care.

Got that sorted now I am wondering how much to file off the drivers and how I am going to get it back together with the tension from the riveted spring pushing it all out.

The flat head is made of 420HC, your hand file might be smurfed by it, be ware.

Thanks for the info.

So did you grind the piece that you use to open the tool? Like where it would hit the handle?

Yes I did, otherwise the drivers would be 15* off.

Good deal.

Going to need a better file I think. Time to make a trip to the mechanics.

I am removed the plier and used the pivot post and original bolt to bolt the plier to the tool I wanted to grind the back off of. This way I lined everything up, 'clamped/bolted' it all together and ground it nice and smooth and easy with a dremel. I used the plier as a guide to get perfect angles and 'template'.
I'll post some pictures what i'm talking about later tonight some time.

The little files I have are not up to the job. have not got around to "borrowing" some from the mechanics.

Been busy around here.

So I scored some files from the mechanics and am making some progress. Got the phillips and flathead sorted where they will go on the tool but they will not close.

Guessing a good little bit of the back end area needs to be ground off?
