The FrankenGerber Twin.

Not so long ago there was an awesome thread.
FrankenGerber Kit and Gerber maintenance tool

Then there was another really awesome thread.
5000 post Gerber pile o parts giveaway

Yup, I won my first Gerber MT.
I've been carrying it around for two weeks now and quite liking it.
After much hunting and waiting, there was a parcel on my doorstep.
The next chapter of the process starts.
I'm still looking for some more parts but this is what I put together today.

That's a truly unique piece!

Is this your first multiplier or Gerber or both?  What do you think about tools? I love my multipliers, hate the length of those miniature tools.  :(

Yeah, I have to admit that Diesel kind of addressed some of those shortcomings, it's a much better tool than MP600 in that respect, for example. But still far from 'perfect'  8)

Both the first Gerber MT and MP. So far they have been working well.

The MP600 I really like. The MP400 Fisherman not so at all, big let down.

So, when you get the saw, (the saw you're after is for this build, right?) What tools will get replaced with it?

I'm guessing the keyring goes :waving: and the phillips goes on the other handle while the bottle opener comes to join the flatheads.

Yes the saw would go into this one.
As for where it goes I don't know, I went through a serious amount of combinations to get the current setup.
Probably, large flat would replace lanyard ring, sm flat and phillips would move over for the saw.
The real question is what to do if I manage to get a saw and universal coupler.
That could get ugly, I might have to choose between them.

I thought I would have to loose the sm flat as well?

Thanks mate.

While making an awl yesterday I tried using it to deburr the edges before test fitting.
Total fail because of the hook groove.
Used the other side instead.

Couple more strikes like that and the file is all yours.

I almost made a start on my Diesel mod tonight, but then I suddenly realised that whilst I had the Diesel and the modified MP600 in front of me, the tools I actually needed to take them apart were in another room ... and that would have meant getting out of my comfy chair.

Ah well ... there's always another day ....
