kids toys and games now seem to come in little wood boxes that get thrown away once the toy has broken

Grey paint, car primer  ;)

It's a PALight or Safe-Light.  Runs on a 9v rectangular battery.  Best feature (for me) is the always on locator glow.  My favourite night light, especially for camping.  I usually swap out the curved focussing lens for a flat one as I prefer a wider, more even beam.

They may be hard to find these days as the maker died a while back and AFIK there were no plans to continue production.  This is a pity, as they are nice little light, and if you run them on the batteries you took out of your smoke detectors you can run them for "free".

www.safe-light.com

There were several different models with different interfaces, and they were available with different case colours ( I have black, blue, orange and purple).

I can not afford a night-stand... I just use a plastic chair.

So when you empty out your trousers/pants where do you throw all your 'stuff'?

Being a Yorkshireman, I cannot comment on this thread as we cannot afford the internet. I have to tie a note to the pigeons leg (he only has one, we were hungry) and let him fly off to a Southerner to copy it onto a computer. Unfortunately this takes longer, as modern paper hasn't caught on yet, so we still use pig skin .... but the pig isn't fat enough to kill yet, so the one legged pigeon is having to carry it alive and whole, there and back ... and he's afraid of heights ... the pig that is, not the pigeon. A pigeon that's afraid of heights would just be silly

Tactical Travel Tray sounds way cooler than "cloth material night stand tidy that you can flattern out a bit"  :salute: and it comes in black or green  :D

Why, that is utterly ridiculous! Could you not simply write the message very small directly onto the pigeons good leg? My god, man.. use your head!

I think for most of us, and by us I mean myself and then unknown other people I presume exist but can't actually be certain about, it is simply about having the "matching set" as it were.

You see.. I happen to have a Tactical Nightstand. It is olive drab colored, has a built in night scope, contains several hidden drawers (most of which must contain things I can no longer locate.. such as my long missing spare keys.. in fact, I can't seem to locate the drawers themselves to be honest), and it has a loop field for attaching patches that inform any persons visiting my bedroom of my blood type, geopolitical affiliations, and nickname.

I do also have Tactical Bedroom Carpeting, so please be careful if you do enter my room. It is honestly mostly the loop half of Velcro, but it does contain snare wire, a fire making kit, and several trap doors that I have yet to find. My dog is missing as well.

I did have Tactical Bedsheets, but I stopped using them. The 1000 denier nylon chafes me a bit, it was covered in D rings, loop Velcro, and carabiners that really aren't comfortable to sleep on, and all the pockets just get caught on things. The fitted sheet alone had 87 pockets. 87! Though admittedly, some of those pockets were inside other pockets that were inside still larger pockets.

Plus my Tactical Wife is covered in the hook side of Velcro, so she was having trouble getting out of bed in the morning. I would have to rip her out of bed, and this scared the dog and really p!ssed off the neighbors.

Did I mention my dog is missing?
