Picked up a neat one from a secondhand shop yesterday.
on: January 01, 2015, 09:54:45 PM
I was puttering around Watkins Glen a couple days ago (had to return a gift), and I wandered over to a secondhand/antique/junk shop outside of town a ways that I like to visit.

Found this little guy for $1!

Sorry for the low quality instagramy photo, I didn't have the best lighting so I did what I could.

It measures about 4 1/8" long. Pretty nifty. I might get into collecting these old, small, multitools from the old days.

I'm not 100% sure, I believe it was before the traditional red or green ones.  Pre 60's.  Probably works on the old gas lamps as well.

My avatar photo is a 1926 Coleman lantern, and I believe that wrench would remove the generator.  I think they may work on stoves and irons too!

Interesting little tool. That tapered slot in the center looks almost like a shackle key used on many yachtsman's knives. Here is a pic of a French made one.

From my perspective it looks like a multi wrench for gas welding torches. They generally come with a multi wrench for all the hose, valve and tip fittings.
Most torches are standardized now but you can imagine the size range some old welders had to deal with especially if they had torches from different brands.
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

Thanks folks! Yeah, $1 or less is my favorite price, too!

I LOVE that French yachtsman's knife. Wow.
