Some stark competition in this one, at least I didn't end up winning it away from someone who needed or wanted it more than me. Thank you so much Grathr, this is very cool of you. I'll make sure I go out to the woods and I'll pretend I know what I'm doing to give it a test review. I'm excited!

I don't think he's ever had a mora. This forum is something special.

FYI mora was JA's father's favorite knife.

I can't think of a better spokesman.  He used it for hunting, fishing mostly. .  Little ja kept it sharp for him.

Good memories.  I still have dad's mora.

Congrats, but be careful! Moras are so much knife for so little money, they tend to be a little like Tribbles. Put two in the drawer and a few months later they will have multiplied! I swear that's what happened to me... ;-)

Im looking forward to hear what tou tink of it.
Moras has always had a special place in my heart.
My first knife was a Mora Scout that my father gave to me when I was 6 years old.  It opened up a whole new world of adventures for me, Making spears, fishing rods, bows and arrows.

Just got a couple of these in. The knives are nice, I think a little better than the lines they are replacing, but the sheaths are where the real upgrade is. So much better than the old 510/511/546 sheaths! Good retention, secure click on insertion, nice fit on the belt. Mine lock together well, just like how the sheaths with removable clips work.

There is a small gap around where the blade fits into the handle, but it's only about 1mm deep so I don't think it's much of a problem. All three of mine have the little gap so I'm thinking it's either part of the design, or totally acceptable to Morakniv (like the Spirit wobble).

I paid $12 for the Pro C, so getting this better quality for the same darn price is awesome. There are some magic elves in Sweden bucking the international economic trend of getting less for more, and I like it!

The new sheats really are a lot better than the old ones.

I havent managed to get myself a Bushcraft black.
I honestly think they are a bit pricey. For the same price you could get a full tang Condor Basic with a leather sheath.

The black coating is cool, but it's only on the surface - so it'll wear off when you sharpen it on the primary bevel - and adds a fair amount to the manufacturing cost, from what I understand. There's an orange model which is stainless and usually retails for much less ($48 for the black vs $32 for the orange on Amazon US right now, just as an example). In case you're interested more in the knife itself than the coating.

I just think the black one looks cooler, and I already have a bunch of stainless Moras.
And I really dont "need" another Mora or fixedblade. But I wont pass up a bushcraft black if I find it at the right price. :D

Feels very good in the hand, very agile.  I have some of the new 510s and one of the older KJ Eriksson 545's (I think) in stainless. Both cut very well and keep an edge.

If you get a hold of one you will love. The carbon steel blade takes one hell of and edge and has good edge retention. And like you said, they look cooler, even after you sharpen it.

I took the Mora Robust out to dispose of the Christmas tree in the garden. It didnt actually do any work, the Estwing took care of that, but the sheath impressed me once again. I just grabbed it  and stuck it on my belt with one hand.  To get it off again I had to take off my jacket and use both hands.

Thanks!

Its pretty good. I havent used it that much. Mostly for chopping up some unwanted small trees in my garden. The spike is good for hacking/digging up roots.
It hacked up the chrismas tree in less than 5 min.
