new guy from NC

Hi, new guy here, big LM fan, but have a few SAK products too.
Ask anything, not sure what to put other than I have a problem with buying Leatherman tools, up to about three dozen now (with two more on the way)

Haha sounds like you'll fit in fine, welcome!  :)  Any pics of your collection so far?  Sounds like something we should see?  Do you have a favorite out of those LMs?  Which do you usually carry/use?

I'll post up some pics later on
currently (and I might be leaving something out, trying to remember off the top of my head) I have:
MUT
Wave
Super Tool (x2)
Super Tool 200
Super Tool 300
Micra (x6)
Squirt (various S4, ES4, PS4 in various colors) (x6)
Skeletool CX
Surge
Fuse
Blast
Brewzer
Style CS
Style PS (x2)
Piranha
Rail
Juice C2
Wingman (x2)

I am sure Im forgetting something, I know I have more than that

Usually carry either the Skeletool or the Wave
I like the Skeletool for the weight, but the Wave is nice for a large number of tools in not TOO big of a package
I have a Wingman for my range bag tool, those are great tools, especially at 20 bucks!!

I'll tell you this, what led me here was EDCf and the hope that I could find a good idea of what I can carry to Washington DC in a few weeks with my high school (I am a student teacher).
I hate not having a LM on me, but dont want to get popped at the capital building or something with a blade, not sure how they are on metal detectors etc.
I have never modded a LM, so Im not sure what would be involved with removing a blade and replacing it with something else.
I know I have the Style PS, which is TSA approved, but I would PREFER to have something mid-full sized to carry. But if it comes down to it then I'll just have to go with one of those :(

I love multitools, been a fan for a long time.
My dad got me my ST200 when I was 16 (or maybe it was 17, thinking 16 though) to keep in my car.
Been a leatherman fan ever since.

Welcome aboard.

Sounds like you need to find yourself a copy of the now out of production Knifeless Fuse. I am also a teacher, and it is perfect for educational institutions that are somewhat fearful of knives.

There is also a knifeless Gerber MP600 which I haven't been able to score yet for my collection.
A little Leatherman information.

I've been to DC a few times. They have metal detectors everywhere. Those stupid gold dollar coins you get in change from the met drove me insane at every bag check. National Archives, Smithsonian, Air and Space Museum, even the Aquarium.  Bag checks, metal detectors, no parking..like ever.

Cops are everywhere touristy so it's pretty safe around.

I'll be up in DC again soon for work..Gaithersberg, Germantown and Rockville i believe. Nice place to see. The country side is beautiful.

They didn't care for me reaching my hand thru the fence and touching white house grass.

My family is from DC, I've been there many many times, its just been a few years.

Thank you for the heads up on the Smithsonians too, didn't even think about those places having the checks too

Is the Style PS my only option?
I do not carry MTs for safety, but for convenience, too often I need to cut some thread off of a piece of clothes, tighten a screw, use pliers etc
