Hello from North Georgia
on: January 12, 2015, 12:02:35 AM
Hello, my name is Casey and having read a bit here over the years I finally joined.

I was born, raised and live in a rural area and as such have carried a pocket knife since I was very young. For much of that time it was a SAK, starting with a Wenger and then Victorinox models for the last twenty years.
I often have a one handed opening folder clipped to my pocket (usually a Delica) and/or a Leatherman on my belt, but I don't leave the house without a SAK in my pocket.

My family and I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and spend most of our free time in the woods or on the water.

I look forward to learning, sharing and hopefully contributing in some way to the community.

Thanks for having me,
                            Casey

Welcome!  Do you have a favorite SAK?  Or one that you carry the most?

My favorites are the Hiker and Camper. I carried a Hiker for years, after swapping from a Super Tinker. Then I decided to give the Camper a try and carried it for a while. Now I just grab one of the two out of my desk in the morning.
Occasionally I carry a Huntsman or Spartan.

Thanks. I do try new things occasionally, but find those SAKs work best for my daily needs.

I'm in NW Georgia and only get down to Atlanta a couple of times per year at most.
I'm not a fan of the Varsity. I've only eaten there a couple of times but was never impressed with the place.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

North Georgia huh?  I was in a small town called Dalton a number of years back.  It was awful pretty down there, but it wasn't hard to play "Spot the Canadian" as I was walking around in t-shorts and jeans while everyone else was huddled up in parkas!

Dalton is not far from me. I live west of there near the Alabama line.

I lived in Alabama too.

Down south though near Phenix City. And yes that is how they spell Phoenix in Alabama!

I've driven through there before. A friend of mine used to buy all kinds of oddball vehicles he found in the Georgia/Alabama/Tennessee Trader books (pre Craigslist. After Craigslist took off he got really crazy with buying and trading cars).

Often I would ride with him to drive the new purchase back. It was a lot of fun.
