P-7 suspension clip: real vs copy
on: January 18, 2015, 07:13:27 PM
Anyone has experience with them?
I like to buy real ones to support the designer but $15 shipped each I could buy 10 copies from China. Pretty sure them all function the same.
Decision decision.

I bought a "real" P-7, but would not do it again if given the choice.   I added a split ring to make it easier to grab.  Too much money for something easily built myself.

Good work there!

I don't understand why they charge so much for a simple product.

I do not have an issue with the price of the clips. $10 each or so if you buy the kit but he smurfing shipping is to much.

Where did you find some China copys Kam?

I bought a 'real' one and like it, but I dont actually use it.  My old way of carrying is still my preference, which is accessory cord lanyard attached to my belt loop with a quick release style clasp on the end that holds the SAK vertical in pocket.  It actually makes it easy for me to open one tool from the SAK with one hand as the lanyard holds the SAK.

I should have made an offer on yours when I got TK-421 from you.

Might try this cord method since I have miles of cord laying around here. Worst case is I don't like it an I am out nothing but some time.

Its nothing fancy.  Just OD green accessory cord, clip on one end and a plastic fob thing (dont know what they are called).  Ive used this for a couple years with whatever SAK I carry.  I loop that through my belt loop and the SAK rides mostly unnoticed in my pocket.  Ive even carried 111mm SAKs this way too and I find it comfortable.

Received these clips from China, .......

They are made of thin stainless steel sheet metal, rough edge all over, the cutouts are slightly off center.
While functional, there is nothing pound to show off.

I guess they are ok for their price, I should have bought the real ones.

Found a set of the real ones on Amazon that came to like $10 or so shipped each. Comes with two of them and some gate type clips.

If I weren't out of pocket room that would be ideal for my Climber.
