Which (current?) tools will fit a Supertool?
on: January 20, 2015, 10:46:20 AM
I have bought a Supertool in a sorry state and need to source both blades or fitting (even with tinkering is fine) replacements.
any hints?

Newer (Blast) blade would not fit well as the locking notch is too wide and the tool pivot is smaller. SOG looks like it could be ground to fit. Any experience?

Original ST or ST300?

ST should accept both ST and ST200 blades and some SOG ones. For ST300 I believe your best bet would also be SOG blades. Failing that see if you can source another beat-up ST with good blades to transplant across.

Sorry I couldn't help more   :(
EDC and OCD. A wicked mix.

Thanks, Guys.
It´s an original Supertool.
I´ll give a SOG blade a try.
eBay US  deals are usually killed by high shipping costs and sometimes I am unable to buy from eBay US even though the seller states he will sell to germany.

I´ll let you know about my progress.

Might Core parts fit? I should have one with damaged locking mechanism somewhere.

The lock cutouts in the tools on the Core are larger than those on the Super Tool. Additionally, most, if not all, are too long (main blades) or unsuitably shaped (especially the Phillips driver) to fit in the Super Tool handles without significant alteration. You might be able to transfer the flat screw drivers and the can/bottle opener and wire stripper, though I have not actually attempted that. Regardless, lockup would be poor at best and you would likely need different spacers between the tools, though the spacers present in the Core might suffice.

Thank you. Seems like I´ll have to explore the possibilities with SOG components.

This is the Tool in question:
