After buying the Bear Grylls Survival Belt, I figured I should also acquire the Gerber GDC Belt Tool.
The GCD Belt Tool comes in a one size fits most 52" long. The idea here is to trim the belt to fit. I would imagine a judicious use of a lighter should be required to ensure that the nylon webbing won't fray or come apart.
One end of the belt has a loop which is designed to loop around a hook on one end of the belt. This system will make this belt and easy on and off belt.
Because Gerber loves to imprint their name and logo everywhere, the backside of the fairly large and heavy buckle did not escape notice.
Now if this was just a simple belt, I wouldn't have bought it. The GDC Belt Tool comes with a nice hidden one piece pocket tool...er...I guess we can call this a belt tool.
The very ergonomic tool offers you a bottle opener, and mini pry bar. The mini pry bar could also double as a large flat driver in a pinch.
The buckle & tool weight about 9 oz. This is a hefty belt buckle. The buckle is faced with textures G10, and all naked metal is coated in titanium, making this not only corrosion resistant but adds to the overall looks.
If you are in the market for a belt, and don't mind something heavyish, then you should take a look at the GDC Belt Tool.
